This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, store and use the information that you provide to us online through the Wheelz website as well as information that we collect, store and use through your use of the Wheelz Service and/or Vehicles. This Privacy Policy does not apply to other Internet sites even if referenced on or accessed via our website. If you do not agree with the terms in this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Wheelz website or apply for Wheelz Member or Owner status.

The Wheelz website and the products and services made available through the Wheelz website are not directed at or designed for use or consumption by persons under the age of 13. In addition, we do not knowingly solicit or obtain individually identifying information from children under the age of 13.

Personal Information

Personal information means any information from which a living individual can be identified directly, or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identification number or to one or more factors specific to their physical, physiological, mental, economic, cultural or social identity.

Our website allows visitors and Wheelz members – both Owners and Drivers—to learn about and interact with Wheelz. Wheelz collects personal information about you such as your name, email address, postal address or telephone number that you voluntarily submit to us.

How We Collect Information

Wheelz obtains information from you either by you typing in your personal details or by the automatic collection of information about you as you use the website, or from regulatory bodies such as the applicable Department of Motor Vehicles. We automatically collect information relating to your visit to our website, such as your IP address, the server into which your computer is logged on, and information about the device you use to visit our Website. By using the Wheelz website, you consent to our collection of this information about you and information associated with your use of the Wheelz website.

In addition we use software known as cookies to facilitate navigation through our website. The first time you visit the website, Wheelz assigns you a unique number, which is stored in the cookie on your computer's hard drive. The cookies help us distinguish new visitors from returning visitors and enable us to measure the electiveness of content on the website and refine that content to suit our visitor's interests. Wheelz cookies do not contain any personally identifiable information. You may disable cookies or set your browser to alert you when cookies are being sent. However, some areas of our website may not function, depending on your browser settings.

We also automatically collect information about your use of the Wheelz Service, including information pertaining to your use of any Vehicles that you rent via the Service such as geographic positioning system data throughout all Usage Periods. We may share this type of information with third parties, including governmental agencies if appropriate, such as, for example, to apprehend the perpetrator of an alleged Vehicle theft. By using the Service, you consent to our collection and sharing of such information.

Information Obtained During the Application Process

If you wish to apply for a Wheelz membership as an Owner or a Driver, we will ask you to enter certain personal and financial information as you proceed through the stages of our online application, membership agreement and reservation process, in order to approve you as a "Member."

If you apply for Wheelz status as an Owner or Driver, some of the information you supply must necessarily be shared with our third party vendors, including our insurance carriers. This is further described in our Terms of Service (TOS). We do not share your personal information with our third party vendors, including our insurance carriers beyond what is necessary to approve your initial or renewal application(s), however, we may share such information in connection with any audit or compliance investigation by these companies or any governmental agency or authority.

The principle purposes for which we collect and store your personal and financial information are to process your Wheelz application and allow you to rent (acting as an Owner) and/or reserve (acting as a Member) Vehicles, as applicable, via Wheelz, authorize payment, bill you, or issue payments to you, as applicable, respond to your inquiries and generally maintain the account you hold with Wheelz.

Communications with You

From time to time we may contact Wheelz Members by email with information regarding our products and services. These communications may contain information about our partners, but all emails are originated by Wheelz. If you do not wish to receive marketing information, you can unsubscribe once you join. Wheelz Members and Owners may control their email and address information, via the settings and preferences in your account profile.

Disclosures and Transfers of Information

We may disclose personal information to contractors and third party vendors acting on our behalf or under our instructions for purposes relating to the operation, maintenance, administration, improvement, and oversight of our website and advertising services, or to fulfill individuals' requests for information or service.

We may disclose personal information in connection with a corporate transaction, proceeding, or reorganization involving the business activities for which the information is maintained.

We may disclose personal information as required by law or when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order or legal process served on us on our website.

Information about your use of the Wheelz website, the Service or any Vehicles, however, is not available for access or modification by you. We make no commitment to provide such information to you now or in the future.

You consent to the transfer of your personal information and financial information for these purposes.

Wheelz reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time and from time to time. For this reason, we advise that you review our Privacy Policy frequently. Changes to our Privacy Policy will be posted on our website, with all modified terms being automatically effective ten days after the updated Privacy Policy is posted on our website.
